Executive Branch Accepts Resignation of Sunat Head and Appoints Replacement

On March 10, President Martín Vizcarra, issued Resolution Nº 007-2020-EF, accepting the resignation of Claudia Liliana Concepción Suárez Gutiérrez, from her post as National Superintendent of Customs and Tax Administration (Sunat) and appointing Luis Enrique Vera Castillo, to serve for five years.

Vera Castillo is a specialist in tax administration and was formerly Deputy National Superintendent of Internal Taxes. With a particular interest in revenue generation and public administration, the Sunat economist holds a Master’s in Business Administration from Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú. He is set to act as Sunat’s new head until 2025.

The outgoing Sunat boss Suárez Gutiérrez had held the role since November 2018.
