Sandleris to Resign From Central Bank After December 10

On December 4, Guido Sandleris, the president of the Argentine Central Bank (BCRA), tendered his resignation to outgoing President Mauricio Macri, effective December 10, when the new president Alberto Fernandez takes office. The two BCRA vice presidents Gustavo Cañonero and Verónica Rappoport will also resign.

The official explained at a press conference that in Argentina, it is a “tradition for the new government to appoint the new BCRA authorities.”

Although it is not yet known who will be his replacement, Fernandez is scheduled to announce the members of his cabinet on Friday, December 6
