On January 12, the Ministry of Health decided to repeal Resolution 1089/19, through which the previous administration approved the Oncology Drug Formulary of the Special Drug Bank coordination. Thus, the Health Ministry removed 14 drugs and incorporated three new ones: abemaciclib for 200 mg in tablet form, enzalutamide for 80mg in capsules and trastuzumab for 420 mg in ampoule vial.

In the rationale for the measure, the Ministry detailed that “given that the last update of the Vademecum of oncological drugs was in 2019, a review of drugs for oncological diseases has been carried out, in accordance with the recommendations made by the National Cancer Institute.”

Furthermore, it added that “said review and update process was carried out based on scientific evidence criteria on the efficacy and safety of the drugs under analysis, and taking into account their cost-effectiveness.” Finally, the Ministry of Health assured that “the new drugs selected will contribute to improving the management of oncological pathologies”.
