On March 19, the Executive Branch announced the candidacy of journalist and writer Miriam Lewin to be the Public Defender of Audiovisual Communication Services. As of the announcement, a public hearing period of 10 working days begins during which citizens can express their position on the issue.

Comments and endorsements must be submitted in writing and accompanied by a digital copy. However, due to the spread of COVID-19, the process could be carried out by electronic means.

Lewin’s name was put forward by the Bicameral Committee for the Promotion and Monitoring of Audiovisual Communication, Telecommunications Technologies and Digitalization on March 13.
