On October 5, the Health Ministry published a Resolution introducing modifications to the calculation of the distribution of resources for risk management and for treating cancer patients in the country, which is already in force.

In other news, the Ministry of Commerce launched a public consultation on a draft decree prohibiting the export and re-export of products required to tackle the COVID-19 health emergency. Those interested may send in comments until Wednesday, October 21, 2020, by writing to the following emails: [email protected] Y [email protected].

The first document modifies  Resolution 3339 of 2019, regarding the distribution of resources for the Health Promotion Companies (EPS, for its acronym in Spanish) in the Contributory and Subsidized regimes and other Entities Obliged to Compensate (EOC, for its acronym in Spanish), for priority cancers. These include breast cancer, cervical cancer, colon cancer, stomach cancer, non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, acute leukemia, and prostate cancer.

The draft being drawn up by the Ministry of Commerce seeks to extend the ban on exports of medicines included under the  30.04.9029.00 tariff heading. It also establishes that the entity may grant exceptions to this prohibition if it can confirm that the internal market is being adequately supplied.
