SMV to Regulate Crowdfunding and Amend Regulations Governing Collective Funds

On August 4, the Securities Market Superintendency (SMV) published the updated version of its regulatory agenda. Ten regulatory proposals are to be released in the second half of this year, including measures to regulate crowdfunding and the modification of the regulations governing collective funds. Concerning the modification of the collective funds, the SMV explained that owing to the current scenario, it was necessary to update the regulatory framework of these funds in order to provide “greater flexibility for the merger of associate groups”.

Also, among the regulations to be released during the second half of 2020 is the Capital Market Roadmap prepared by the World Bank, with the support of the Swiss Cooperation (SECO), as well as some regulatory initiatives suggested within the framework of the Capital Markets Advisory Council.
