EL SALVADOR

On March 23, the National Directorate of Medicines published Agreement 1.20.7.1 in the Official Gazette of El Salvador, which authorizes the 2020 Official Drugs List, bringing it into effect. Two of the medicines included are Methotrexate and Rituximab. The 2020 Drug and Controlled Substance List was also published, listing the drugs that may be marketed under greater controls in the country. Click here to access it.

The Official Drug List is published annually according to the El Salvador Drugs Law, in coordination with the Ministry of Health, and is updated periodically during the first quarter of each year.

This law also establishes that the public administrations in the health system must make these drugs available on a permanent basis and ensure their rational use to guarantee correct patient treatment.
