The National Directorate of Taxes and National Customs (DIAN, for its acronym in Spanish) has launched a public consultation on a draft resolution to optimize services involved in renewing the electronic signature instrument (IFE, for its acronym in Spanish). Interested parties may submit their comments until February 5 to [email protected].

The IFE has to be renewed before subscribers can continue to fulfill their obligations in the context of the operations performed with the DIAN, a process required when it becomes necessary to extend the IFE’s validity, when a subscriber considers that their IFE security has been violated, or when their electronic identity password has been lost.

The resolution applies to taxpayers meeting their obligations online using the IFE. If the subscriber does not complete the renewal process within twenty calendar days of the request, they will be required to restart the process.
