COLOMBIA

On January 28, the Colombian Communications Regulatory Commission (CRC) extended the deadline to submit comments to the regulatory proposal “Revision of the Reporting and Information Regime for Audiovisual Content”. Comments may be sent until next Monday, February 14 through the e-mail [email protected].

The agency has extended the deadline to send comments to the draft “Revision of the Reporting and Information Regime for Audiovisual Content”. The proposal seeks to update the obligations of delivery or reporting of periodic information, as well as storage, and the standardization of the information formats of such obligations, in order to organize the way in which television service operators deliver information, among other points. Among its provisions, the text establishes that the subscription television operator with its own production channel must keep for 6 months the archives of the recording of all the audiovisual material broadcasted in such channel.

The draft adds to the Title of Information Reports of Resolution CRC 5050 of 2016 two reporting formats. One of them refers to requests, complaints, claims and requests for content, indicating that open television concessionaires or those who have general authorization for such purpose must submit to the CRC a report with the information requested therein respecting such format. In the same line, it also proposes a new reporting format regarding access mechanisms for the deaf or hard of hearing population. These new reporting forms will begin to be applied for the report corresponding to the second quarter of 2022.
