On July 16, the Fifth Meeting of the Consultative Council of the Capital Market of Peru met to discuss the introduction of a Capital Market Roadmap prepared by the World Bank, focusing on the schedule to be adopted for phasing in the new system. 

The Roadmap envisages a range of options for short, medium and long-term policies for products and markets which will impact financial Inclusion and competitiveness among other areas. These are being analyzed by both public and private sectors in the form of the Working Tables of the Consultative Council. 

The meeting was attended by the Stock Market Superintendent (SMV for its acronym in Spanish), José Manuel Peschiera, the directors of the SMV and officials from the Ministry of Economy and Finance; as well as the permanent members of the Consultative Council. It is worth mentioning that the Advisory Council is not an advisory body of the SMV, but of the Peruvian capital market itself.
