On January 3,  the Central Bank of the Republic of Argentina (BCRA) issued Communication A 6856/2019, which extends the obligation for foreign currency earnings from goods and services exports to enter the national banking system beyond December 31, 2019.

The measure is enshrined in Decree 91/2019 issued by the Executive the previous week, establishing that “the value of exported goods and services must enter the country in foreign currency and/or be negotiated in the exchange markets according to the terms and conditions established by the Central Bank of the Argentine Republic.” The latest announcement amends Decree 609/2019, which had given the measure an expiry date of December 31, 2019.
