On October 13, the Secretariat of Finance and Public Credit (SHCP in Spanish) opened, through the National Commission for Regulatory Improvement (CONAMER in Spanish), a public consultation on the submission of reports by holding companies of financial groups. The text establishes the deadlines and the format for the submission of data by these holding companies, in order to comply with the correct presentation of their basic financial statements before the National Banking and Securities Commission (CNBV in Spanish). The draft will be available for consultation until at least November 9, and interested parties may send their opinions through the following link.
The preliminary draft makes modifications to the provisions applicable to holding companies of financial groups under CNBV supervision. The text mentions that Holding Companies must submit their basic financial statements to the Vice Presidency of the CNBV on a quarterly basis, which must include figures for the months of March, June and September of each year, within the month immediately following their date.
On the other hand, the text establishes that Holding Companies will have to send only once to the CNBV, unless the entity determines otherwise, the information set forth in these provisions, by electronic means using the Interinstitutional Information Transfer System (SIT, in Spanish).
