Executive extends lockdown until February 28

On February 10, the President of the Council of Ministers, Violeta Bermúdez, announced the extension of the mandatory ‘social immobilization’ until February 28. Bermúdezl said that 32 provinces will remain under total quarantine in order to mitigate the effects of the second wave of COVID-19 in the country. Likewise, she explained that these measures will vary according to the pandemic forecast for the next 15 days. The measure is expected to be made official in the short term.

Among the restrictions established by the Executive, casinos, gyms, cinemas and shopping malls are to remain closed. Also, stores supplying basic products, supermarkets, markets, warehouses and pharmacies will have a limited capacity of 40%. Restaurants will only be able to offer services through delivery or take-away.
