On January 15, the Securities Exchange Commission (CNV, for its acronym in Spanish) issued General Resolution 879/2021. which applies the procedures for the “Participative Elaboration of Norms”, inviting citizens to express their opinions and/or proposals regarding the adoption of a regulation on “Sustainable Collective Investment Products”. See the annexes to the resolution by clicking on the following links: Annex 1, Annex 2.
The organization is looking at a proposal to draw up a special regime for Sustainable Open Common Investment Funds, using negotiable securities with an Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) impact as their particular object of special investment.
The CNV indicated that following the increase in the supply of sustainable financial products, it was necessary to implement a special regime to encourage the investment of green and social bonds. It added that collective investment products are fundamental for economies as they provide liquidity and financing for investment projects through the capital markets.
