On October 15, the Chamber of Deputies passed a bill to streamline clinical trial procedures for pharmaceuticals and medical devices aimed at mitigating the effect of diseases triggering health alerts. The bill was passed with 104 votes in favor, 32 against and four abstentions.

The initiative defines a range of special authorizations covering research into pharmaceutical products and medical devices aimed at addressing the circumstances justifying the declaration of the constitutional state of emergency for disasters declared on the occasion of an epidemic or pandemic.
