Ministry of Health Approves Health Directive on Specialized Care Processes in Pediatric Oncohematology

On October 6, the Ministry of Health announced a health directive covering specialized care in pediatric oncohematology processes. The purpose of the regulations is to regulate the care received by cancer patients under 18.

According to the measure, Pediatric Oncohematology services must offer Telehealth services able to send and receive information required to provide health services. These services must have access to diagnostic and treatment support tools according to type and class.

The measure also establishes criteria for the comprehensive care of underage patients with a definitive diagnosis of hematological neoplasms, solid tumors and tributaries of hematopoietic progenitor transplants, according to their ability to resolve.
