On June 9, the Executive branch issued Resolution No. 062-2020-MTC/24, which postpones until July 10, 2020 the deadline for the submission of affidavits and the payment of the Contribution for the Special Right destined to the Telecommunications Investment Fund (FITEL, for its acronym in Spanish) corresponding to March, April and May. In other news, the Operations Manual for the National Telecommunications Program (PRONATEL, in Spanish) was approved.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Transport issued Resolution No. 0311-2020-MTC/01.03 containing the Operations Manual for the National Telecommunications Program. The idea is to close the digital gap by providing universal access to telecommunication services, through the development of broadband within its area of competence, promotion of services, contents, applications and digital skills.

In other news, the political party Podemos Peru introduced a bill that prohibits the interruption of basic services from the date of the declaration of the state of emergency, until sixty days after it is lifted. It also proposes prohibiting the increase of electricity, gas, and water rates, as well as those for fixed and mobile telephony and internet services during the state of emergency.
