Central Bank Releases Annual Report on Banking Economics

On June 4, the Brazilian Central Bank released its annual report on Banking Economics 2019, an extensive assessment of the Brazilian credit market which analyzes the operating conditions of the National Financial System. Access the document by clicking here.

The report provides information on the expectations of the credit market for 2020, as well as a series of texts on various topics such as microcredit; changes in the ‘special check’ system and a simulation of impacts, portability in real estate credit, the sensitivity of credit demand to interest rates in certain types of free credit, and the actions of banks and cooperatives after the acquisition of new clients.

It also includes a long-term evaluation of financial education initiative developed for middle schools, the profile of citizens with risky debt, an evaluation of the Fintech and cooperative business models, and the performance of the Central Bank in the efforts to prevent money laundering and the financing of terrorism
