Indecopi Publishes List of Pharmaceutical Patents for Oncological Drugs, Hepatitis, HIV and Tuberculosis

On February 25, Indecopi published a list of pharmaceutical patents now in the public domain with the aim of facilitating access to information by the sectoral authorities as an alternative for the supply of medicines in the country. Among the medicines published on the Directorate of Inventions and New Technologies (DIN) website are drugs to treat cancer, hepatitis C, HIV and tuberculosis. 

The list contains 20 patents that are now of free use for the treatment of diseases with a high impact on public health. 

The DIN updates patent information in the public domain on a quarterly basis. The last publication was of a list of 36 pharmaceutical patents to treat similar diseases, whose term of protection had already expired or expired.
