MEXICO

On February 19, the General Health Council (CSG) updated the Basic Table and Catalogue of Medicines establishing inputs to be used by public institutions in the National Health System for the first, second and third levels of medical care. The regulations, included in three resolutions, (Annex 1, Annex 2, Annex 3)  incorporate new oncological drugs, such as Rituximab and are already in effect.

In addition to Rituximab, other drugs incorporated include Venetoclax, Afatinib and Alectinib, and some cardiological drugs, notably Rivaroxaban. Also, acetylsalicylic acid was added to the group of cardiological medicines, and Beclometasone to fight lung disease.

The purpose of the Basic Table of Medicines is to generate a single classification and coding system for health inputs, standardizing the procurement policies of the institutions making up the National Health System.
