On January 31, the Central Bank published its definitions of the Payment Service Provider (PSP) framework through communication A 6885, stipulating that PSPs must apply for registration with the “Registry of Payment Service Providers offering payment accounts” before April 1. This will enable them to join an information and surveillance regime which will monitor their evolution. In addition, PSPs must include information in their advertising indicating that they only offer payment services and that their funds are not guaranteed by the deposits held by financial institutions.
