On February 6, President Jair Bolsonaro, through Decree No. 10,222, approved the National Cybersecurity Strategy establishing the basic guidelines for the public sector, the productive sector and society to “enjoy resistant, reliable, inclusive and safe cyberspace.” The regulation is already in force.

Regarding the financial system, the regulations are essentially to ensure that bank data belong to customers and not to financial institutions. At the same time, they promote the adoption of so-called 4D processes, which involve democratization, digitalization, debureaucratization and demonetization.

The objectives of the plan include how to manage cyber security and strategically protect cyberspace at national level and envisage the creation of a centralized model such as a National Cybersecurity Council.
