The Financial Markets Commission (FMC) has published the Basel III Implementation Schedule, prior to its March-April launch of consultations on the rules related to subordinated bonds, definitions for the issuance of convertible bonds and preference shares, and capital adequacy and leverage assessment.

In addition, during May and June, the CMF plans to launch a consultation on the standard method rules for market risk, internal models for market risk, degrees of risk exposure for corporate groups, among other issues.

The regulations are expected to take effect from December 1, 2020 and be rolled out gradually until December 2024.
