On January 8, the Executive branch officially appointed Ángel Francisco Mercado and Raúl Alberto Garré as directors of the Central Bank of the Argentine Republic (BCRA), by decree 38/2020, and also made official the appointment of Lisandro Pablo Cleri to head up the External Public Debt Sustainability Management Unit at the Ministry of Economy, through Decree 36/2020.

Meanwhile, Decree 33/2020 announced the appointment of Claudio Martín Golonbek and Claudia Berger as Superintendent and Deputy Superintendent of Financial and Exchange Institutions of the Central Bank, respectively.
