Venezuela
20 diciembre 2019

The National Superintendency of Cryptoassets and Related Activities (Sunacrip, for its acronym in Spanish) this week published two documents on crypto currency operations. The regulations lay down the guidelines applicable to operations for cryptoasset assignment and exchange using technological platforms. In addition, financial institutions with mechanisms to participate in cryptoassets markets may charge a maximum commission of 4% for each operation. The measures are already in force.

The initiatives state that operations in crypto currencies will be carried out using the Sistema Patria platform. Sunacrip may therefore charge natural and legal persons acquiring or exchanging cryptoassets a maximum commission of 2% of the value of the operation in order to ensure the correct functioning of the platform.

The financial institutions designated by Sunacrip to take part in the exchange and acquisition of goods and services using cryptoassets must have the appropriate technology to carry them out adequately.
