On December 5, the Economic Regime Committee adopted the report of the tax reform bill by 10 votes in favor and 2 against, in response to the urgency transmitted by the Executive,. Committee president Daniel Mendoza (ruling party) stated that during the working rounds, they reached a 90% consensus on the wording of the articles. However, one of the points still lacking agreement is the review of the increase in telephony services. Mendoza indicated that these differences will be resolved in the plenary session.

The Assembly is expected to be convened on December 9 to conclude its treatment and sanction the text. It is worth mentioning that as it was qualified as urgent, the Assembly has until December 20 to approve or reject it
