Argentine Citizens to Vote For Next President
Argentina
25 octubre 2019

Argentina will hold its presidential and legislative elections on October 27 to define the next president ruling the country from December 10 until the end of 2023. The main contenders are President Mauricio Macri, who obtained 32.08% of the votes in the primaries, and Alberto Fernández, who was previously Chief of Staff in the last government, with 47.65%. If this scenario is to be repeated, the next president would be opposition candidate Fernandez, flanked by former president Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner as vice president.

In turn, the Chamber of Deputies will renew half of its seats (130), and the Senate one third (24). The opposition is expected to increase its representation in both chambers, approaching a quorum in the Senate.
