On November 29, the Executive Branch published a resolution that establishes changes in the Mercosur Common Nomenclature (NMC in Spanish) and the Common External Tariff (TEC in Spanish). The resolution includes pharmaceutical products. The regulation comes into force on January 1, 2022.

Among the modifications to the Nomenclature are, among others:

  • 3003.90.55 Paracetamol, bromopride.
  • 3003.90.56 Amitraz, cypermethrin.
  • 3003.90.73 Albendazole or its sulfoxide; mebendazole; 6-mercaptopurine; amezinium methylsulfate; oxyfendazole; praziquantel.
  • 3003.90. 78 Altretamine; bortezomib; erlotinibe hydrochloride; dacarbazine; tenofovir disoproxyl fumarate; enfuvirtide; fluspirilene; letrozole; lopinavir; imatinib mesylate; nelfinavir ou seu mesylate; nevirapine; pemetrexed; saquinavir; abacavir sulfate; atazanavir sulfate; indinavir sulfate; temozolomide; thioguanine; thiopental sodium; triethylenethiophosphoramide; trimetrexate; uracil and tegafur; verteporfin.

Likewise, the 35% Import Tax rate is maintained until December 31, 2023 for the MERCOSUR Common Nomenclature codes of this regulation that include pharmaceutical products.

It should be noted that the tariff reductions in the Import Tax rates granted by a decree in March 2020 remain in force.
