The Executive Branch publishes a decree that incorporates the Mercosur resolution on health surveillance and control into the national legal system

On September 7, the Executive Branch published in the Official Gazette the incorporation into the national legal system of a resolution of the Common Market Group related to the approval of the procedures on health surveillance, control of prioritized diseases and events of public health importance among the States parties. The resolution establishes the criteria for the selection of priority diseases and events. These include: the epidemic potential for international dissemination or possible implications on international trade or travel; correspondence with a specific goal of a control program on regional or international commitments; and diseases and events that require information exchange for their knowledge and/or intervention.

It should be noted that priority communicable diseases for communication include: hepatitis C, dengue, malaria, rubella, yellow fever, tuberculosis, among others. Likewise, the Health Surveillance Commission (COVIGSAL in Spanish) is in charge of the respective control and communication of the information.
