Committee approves bill to create the National Policy for Pediatric Oncology Care

On June 10, the Constitution and Justice and Citizenship Committee approved the proposal to institute the National Policy for Pediatric Oncology Care, to guarantee comprehensive care, from diagnosis, to children and adolescents (0 to 19 years old) with cancer. The bill now goes to the plenary for its vote.

The articles presented by Deputy Bibo Nunes (PSL- ruling party) aim to promote the universal and comprehensive treatment of children and adolescents, prioritizing early diagnosis and access to qualified centers and support homes.

In turn, the initiative highlights the article which establishes that the National Policy for Pediatric Oncological Care should include the promotion of science and technology as a way of improving treatments and survival rates.
