Oil production recovers thanks to higher demand from China
Venezuela
5 julio 2019

On July 1, the state-owned Petróleos de Venezuela S.A. (PDVSA) reported that national production in June recovered 26 percent compared to May 2019, reaching 1.1 million barrels per day. According to the state-owned company, sales growth to China was key, which managed to capture part of the production that Venezuela could not sell as a result of the sanctions imposed by the United States on this sector.

These figures contrast with those presented by the same entity for May 2019, when production fell by 17 percent.  The trend, according to Petroleum Minister Manuel Quevedo, was reversed thanks to increased sales to three key partners: China, India and Singapore.
