Agency for Access to Public Information approves content for business rules on international data transfer
14 diciembre 2018

On December 7, through Resolution 159/2018, the Agency for Access to Public Information approved the basic content of rules on self-regulation for companies over international data transfers. It stipulates that rules on self-regulation should concern, among other issues, conditions of legality, the specific protection of sensitive material and the designation of third parties.

The content of the rules approved by the Agency is intended as a guide for companies of the same economic group to adequately protect personal information in the context of international data transfers.

It should be noted that Law 25.326 and its regulatory decree 1558/2001 stipulate that personal data may not be transferred to countries or international bodies failing to provide adequate levels of security.
