Study of a bill that fixes retention in credit operations begins
26 enero 2018

The Committee of Economic Regime (Comisión del Régimen Económico) of the Assembly began the study of the initiative that states that the entities of the private financial sector will act as a retention agent of the 0.5% contribution of credit operations destined to financing the Society to Fight against the Cancer of Ecuador (Sociedad de Lucha contra el Cáncer del Ecuador – SOLCA).

The File Bill Nº 308184, introduced by the legislator Roberto Gómez Alcívar, a member of the coalition CREO-SUMA (opposition), indicates that the sums collected for this concept will be deposited weekly by the withholding agents in a special account that will be opened in Banecuador B.P, at the order of SOLCA. The resources of this contribution will be allocated to the financing of comprehensive cancer care in this entity and will be transferred without the need for justification or fulfillment of a prior requirement of any kind.
