SMV to Extend Adaptation of Mutual Investment Funds Regulations

On july 2, the Stock Market Superintendency (SMV for its acronym in English)) issued resolution Nº 00017-2019-SMV/01 extending to September 30, 2019, the adaptation period of the Regulations for Mutual Investment Funds in Securities and their associated Companies. Although the measure has not yet been published in the Official Gazette, formalizing the text, the idea is to avoid the suspension of the subscription of quotas for these mutual funds.  

The resolution stipulates that management companies with funds registered in the Public Registry of the Securities Market have until September 30, 2019 to adapt their simplified prospectuses and regulations accordingly.

The Regulation was modified by the SMV in September 2018 with the aim of promoting investment and improving the competitiveness of the mutual fund industry. The resolution will enter into force the day after its publication in the Official Gazette.
