3 julio 2019

On July 1, the General Direction of Medicines, Supplies and Drugs (Digemid) of the Ministry of Health (Minsa) announced an initiative to set up the Peruvian Network of Information Centers and Services for Medicines, with a view to promoting the rational use of medicines and strengthening the role of the country’s Drug Information Centers. The Ministry hopes to have the network up and running by the end of this year. It has also published a decree modifying the requirements to authorize laboratories to function, as well as establishing practices for the pharmaceuticals production, which has already entered into force.

As part of the implementation of this strategy, the National Center for Documentation and Information on Medicines (Cenadim) held a training workshop to help health personnel use the new tool properly and develop the methodology needed to strategically search for scientific publications and guidance for consultations on medicines and medical devices.

Likewise, Minsa, in conjunction with the Ministry of Economy and Finance, published a decree modifying the Regulation of Pharmaceutical Establishments which establishes new requirements to be met by laboratories in order to obtain production permits in the country. The decree also incorporates Good Practices guides governing the processes of Laboratory, Distribution and Transport of pharmaceutical products.
