AFIP Creates Agency to Facilitate International Trade
7 junio 2019

The Federal Administration of Public Revenues (AFIP) has just launched a Permanent Inter-Organic Agency (CPI for its acronym in Spanish), tasked with establishing procedures to reduce operating costs, facilitate foreign trade and foster integration with other countries.

The CPI, enshrined in Decree 389/2019 which was adopted on June 3, aims to guarantee the agile participation and effective control of the agencies involved in simplifying customs mechanisms. The new system will apply to international trade operations as well as to multiple operators.

The Agency is one of the pillars of the “Authorized Economic Operator” (OAS) program, and involves the Secretariat of Foreign Trade and the Secretariat of Productive Simplification, both of which report to the Ministry of Production and Labor.
