On May 15,  the President of the Financial Markets Commission (CMF), Joaquín Cortez, signed the Multilateral Memorandum of Understanding (MMoU) of the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO), during the entity’s 44th Annual Conference in Australia.

The agreement will allow Chile to incrementally benefit from greater collaboration and information exchange with other entities from over 100 countries. Cortez will also be holding bilateral meetings with his peers and regulators from the Pacific Alliance member countries during the Conference.

Although the CMF has been part of IOSCO since this body was founded in 1983, it had not yet ratified the memorandum.  IOSCO is a global cooperative of securities regulatory agencies that aims to establish and maintain worldwide standards for efficient, orderly and fair markets.
