On May 8, the National Superintendence of Customs and Tax Administration (Sunat) launched a new digital platform to expedite procedures and reduce import costs in maritime trade. This system, which works through a Homologated Cargo Manifest, will be implemented for operations that are conducted by air as of June 3.

The Homologated Cargo Manifest contains data related to the means of transport, the type of merchandise, country of origin and destination, among others. This system, which uses the Internet service eliminating intermediation costs to users, responds to international standards, and the guidelines of the World Customs Organization (WCO).

With the new platform,  the operability of foreign trade is expected to increase, facilitating and making transparent the operations of entry and exit in all the customs of the country. In addition, Sunat informed that this system will be available for operations by air from June 3.
