The Central Bank of Venezuela, together with the Ministry of Economy, published February 12 an official notice on the maximum amounts of the currency sale operations that take place in banks and exchange houses in Venezuela. The regulation is already in force.

The maximum annual amount that can be acquired through banking retail exchange operations is EUR 8,500 per year. The measure also allows people to buy up to EUR 1,000 per week and EUR 4,000 per month in universal banks. The minimum purchase amount is EUR 50 for individuals and EUR 500 for legal entities.

Even though the document uses the euro as reference currency, people may opt for the equivalent amounts in another foreign currency.
