On November 20, the Ministry of Interior, through its Ministerial Resolution No. 1351-2018-IN, modified the role of the Commission for the Promotion of Private Investment of the Interior Sector. Under this new measure the Commission will be able to coordinate and supervise the delivery of public investment projects with private participation under the public works tax regime.

The Executive has also outlined who will comprise the Commission: three representatives of the Ministry of the Interior (from the Secretary General and the Directors General of Planning and Budget, and Infrastructure of the Ministry) as well as the Adviser to the Ministerial Office, the Director of Operational Planning and Budget, and the Director of Infrastructure of the Ministry.

The  Commission for the Promotion of Private Investment  was created in July this year, through Legislative Decree No. 1362, with the objective of regulating the development of public-private investment projects and projects in assets. In this regard, the Commission is charged with speeding up the investment procedures in order to promote private investment.
