Financial Market Commission signs up to Financial Technologies Collaboration Agreement

On November 14, the Commission for the Financial Market (CMF)  published the resolution 5.084, which approves the Framework Agreement for Collaboration, Consultation and Information Exchange on Fintech Projects of the Ibero-American Institute of Securities Markets (IIMV). The agreement promotes the development of collaborative initiatives on Fintech by facilitating the exchange of information, experience and knowledge among signatory countries. It also fosters the participation of both national and international stakeholders through greater dialogue with national authorities.

The agreement promotes the use of financial technologies in IIMV countries. At the public level, the initiative encourages securities regulators in the region to exchange experience and knowledge. Furthermore, it fosters cooperation in joint regional initiatives related to the development of these technologies. Lastly, the agreement promotes dialogue between national authorities and stakeholders to stimulate the development of new entrepreneurs.

The IIMV is an organization created to promote the growth of securities markets and financial instruments at the Ibero-American level, including Portugal and Spain. Established in 1999, it enhances cooperation between regional authorities to deepen the integrated development in financial services and securities markets.
