Pacific Alliance proposes to regulate FinTech issues

The Finance ministers of the Pacific Alliance member countries (Mexico, Chile, Colombia, and Peru), got togethher 6th July at the XVII Meeting of Finance ministers of the Pacific Alliance, in Bogota, Colombia, and announced an agreement to regulate FinTech industry in the region.

 

The agreement will include guidelines to encourage innovation in financial services, promote competitiveness, and foster regional financial inclusion. The elaboration of this document will probably lead to an international agreement which, after being signed, must be ratified by the National Congresses of the member countries and, thus, enter into force.

 

This meeting was organized in view of the XIII Pacific Alliance Presidential Summit, which will take place next 24th July in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. The minister expect to finish have the agreement ready by then.
