The Executive launches a call to buy anticancer drugs

On May 4th, the Ministry of Health launched the national call for the acquisition of 61 oncological products that treat the most common types of cancer in the country, costing 20.8 million dollars. Pharmaceutical companies that wish to participate were invited to register in the Electronic System of State Contracts (SEACE) between Friday, May 4th and Tuesday, May 15th. The Supervisory Agency for State Contracting (OSCE) will provide technical support for the process.

This initiative was initiated by the National Center for the Supply of Strategic Resources in Health (Cenares), which belongs to the Ministry of Health.

Furthermore,, cabinet chief César Villanueva, announced on May 2nd the restructuring of the Comprehensive Health Insurance (SIS) and the development of a national drug policy that guarantees a minimum stock in pharmacies. With this purpose, government plans to make a purchase of 243 million dollars for the period 2019-2020.
