On April 18th and 19th the “C/Can 2025 High Level Regional Forum: Financing Sustainable Solutions for Cancer Control in Latin America” will take place in Montevideo. The meeting is organized by the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) and the government of Uruguay. The meeting will be attended by members of the public and private sector, multilateral and academic organizations and they will seek to create a Health Financing Unit in cities as a mechanism to improve access to funding for the fight against cancer.

The objective of the meeting is to develop a financing plan to improve health services and their quality with respect to the fight against cancer according to the economic capabilities of Latin America. At the same time, a discussion platform will be created to generate proposals for improvement in health systems and infrastructure in the low-income countries of the region.

Finally, the forum will discuss the creation of the Health Financing Unit in Cities. It will have the function of technically assisting the participating cities of C / Can 2025 in the creation of long-term financing plans for the improvement of health systems.
